The Boston 13s have rounded out the 2015 regular season with a comfortable 64-16 win over rivals the Rhode Island Rebellion.
The win moves the 13s to 7-1 on the season, their best ever record and it clinches the North East divisional title.
Although the offense ran in 11 tries, it wasn’t a great performance by any means. Coach Robin Peers was far from happy with the completion rate and some sloppy defending.
Leading the scoring was long serving winger Ryan Forgione who scored three on the day. Dustin Cooper and Urban Iyo both crossed for doubles. Forwards Jonpaul Davis, Curtis Goddard, Kane Bentley and Mike Elias also got their names on the scoresheet. Prolific try scorer Fullback Liam Georgetown strangely didn’t cross to add to his tally, but did kick 10 from 11 on the day to still give him a 20 point haul
All eyes now turn to next week’s opening playoff game in Rhode Island where the Rebellion will host the Brooklyn Kings, with the winner making the trip to The Irish Cultural Center to play the 13s on August 8th.
