It’s one versus two this Saturday, as Boston travel to the nation’s capital to take on the undefeated DC Slayers, in what should be a very tasty exchange.
Washington couldn’t have asked for a better start to the season.
An easy win against Baltimore and two hard fought victories against rivals North Virginia Eagles have them sitting pretty at the top of the USARL Northern Conference ladder.
The 13s on the other hand are coming off a very dominant display against ‘thereabouts’ Rhode Island, turning things around after suffering a heartbreaking loss to Brooklyn in round two.
“The boys hated the result in Brooklyn, and have been using it as motivation ever since”, stated Head Coach Robin Peers.
“We’ve got 25 guys showing up to practice and really ripping in”.
“There’s always room for improvement, but if we go out there on Saturday with the same mindset as we did against the Rebellion, we’ll put ourselves in a great position to win the game”.
The last time these two teams met was in 2012. That day DC ambushed a very tired 13s outfit, taking advantage of their long night spent on the road.
“We learned a lot from that”, Peers explained.
“We’ve split the trip up this time, so come kick-off there aren’t any excuses and we’re raring to go”.
