Though the season is still five months away, the Boston 13s have been working tirelessly behind the scenes recruiting new players, sponsors, and support staff for 2014 and beyond.
One of which, is Daniel Roberts, who will be joining the club in a media role to help raise the profile of the 13s.
Roberts who is originally from Bolton, England, is an avid rugby league fan and sports journalist; writing freelance articles for a range of publications both online and in print including UK based rugby league magazine, Forty-20.
“I’m really excited about getting involved with the 13s and cannot wait to get started”, Roberts said. “Having spoken to 13s Head Coach Robin Peers via Skype I knew straight away that I wanted to join the club in their quest to raise awareness of the game in the US. It was clear to me that the 13s are already developing a solid fan base and great team spirit from the tireless work of the off-field staff and, given the success of the USA Tomahawks World Cup campaign, the only way is up for the sport and the 13s.”
Roberts will be working with the club to make the website and social media platforms accessible to all with updated, exciting content that will allow fans to keep up with all things 13s.
